The Charles County Charitable Trust is pleased to announce the availability of $750,000 to nonprofit organizations providing Transitional Housing in Charles County. The funds are provided by the County through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) that was passed by Congress in 2021.
The purpose of the funds is for capital expenditures to create new beds as temporary housing, in Charles County, Maryland, for individuals and families with the goal of interim stability. The new Transitional Housing beds must be operational by September 30, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
- MUST HAVE IRS RECOGNITION AS A 501(C)(3) TAX-EXEMPT ORGANIZATION NO LATER THAN JANUARY 1, 2021.
- MUST HAVE BEEN IN OPERATION CONTINUOUSLY SINCE JANUARY 1, 2021.
- MUST BE IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE STATE OF MARYLAND.
- MUST BE CURRENTLY PROVIDING TEMPORARY OR EMERGENCY HOUSING SUPPORT IN CHARLES COUNTY, MARYLAND
