On Saturday December 9th, Charles County Charitable Trust staff attended the Charles County Youth Orchestra concert performance during the Christmas Kringle Christmas Market at the Charles County Fairgrounds. Modeled after the famous markets in Germany, this annual eventoffers light displays, holiday food, handmade crafts from local artists/crafters, children’s activities, shopping, music, and more. Shoppers were entertained with Christmas Carols from the Youth Orchestra including Angels We Have Heard on High, Silent Night, Canon by Pachelbel, and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s “Messiah” directed by CCYO Executive Director, Osmon Kivrak.
We were delighted to see other Charles County nonprofits also at the Kris Kringle Market this year, including the Boy Scouts, children’s activities run by the 4H club, and a play space provided by Pure Play Every Day. The McConchie School House was also open to guests.
The Charles County Youth Orchestra will host mid-year auditions on Saturday January 13th from 10-1 at Christ Church LaPlata. To register for auditions, visit ccyo.org/worp/
