Fiscal Year 2025 Grants will be due April 11, 2024

Charitable Trust Congratulates Charles County Public Library Foundation

Charitable Trust staff extends their congratulations to Charles County’s newest 501(c)3 nonprofit, Charles County Public Library Foundation! CCPL Foundation has been working for years in support of the local library system to increase revenue and community resources available from the library. Obtaining official IRS 501(c)3 exemption is an important step in continuing their work and being open to more funding opportunities in support of all libraries in Charles County.

Trust Staff got to sit down with CCPL Foundation Staff in February to offer support and suggest helpful resources for a newly approved nonprofit, as well as to learn more about their objectives to support our community libraries. They look forward to growing their reach among Charles County residents in the way of community events and highlighting all the resources libraries across our county have to offer. Thus far, large efforts have focused on fundraising for the new La Plata Library complex planned to be built on Washington Ave. near the Court House. This complex will provide a wonderful new asset for the community, but is already facing reductions in plans due to cost.

Charles County Public Library is hosting an exciting event on April 5th and invites all Charles County residents and friends to attend! CCPL Fest: Books, Bites, and Beats will be a community festival and fundraiser that brings together Southern Maryland’s favorite things: tasty food, live music, fun VIP events, a variety of vendors, and more in support of our public libraries. While admission is free, there are also optional VIP event tickets on sale now, including a Meet the Author Brunch and a Wine Tasting. Check out the CCPL Fest website for more information at ccplonline.orgt/ccpl-fest and plan to stop by Waldorf West Library 11am to 3pm on April 5th.

HOW TO HELP: CCPL Foundation needs Board Members and volunteers to further their mission. If you are interested in learning more, reach out to Shannon Bland at sbland@ccplonline.org. And check out CCPL’s Community Festival and Fundraiser!
