Application Instructions

Log onto the grant application portal at:

You may log on to the Grant Application Portal to submit your application by clicking on the Application button located in the top right-hand corner of this page. Please make a note of your password as you will need it to re-enter the portal.

Filling in the Application:

  • Your form will automatically save your entries as you move through the application, however, you may SAVE and EXIT the application if you plan to return to add information prior to submitting. If you do not click save before leaving the browser, your information may not be saved. The system will email you a link to your application.
  • If using a word document to cut-and-paste into the application, do not use formatting like bullets, bold, or highlights, as they will not translate to the application.
  • Answer all questions and upload the required documents or the system will not allow you to submit your application.
  • When you successfully submit your application, you will receive an e-mail acknowledgement and a copy of your application. Contact the Trust office at 301-934-3700 if you do not receive the email. Please do not consider your application submitted if you do not receive the confirmation email.
 
 
 

Required Documents:

  1. IRS Letter of Determination dated no later than January 31, 2022
  2. Key program staff roster including brief write up
  3. Board of Directors titles, and affiliations or former affiliations
  4. Proposed Program Budget: Download the budget template, fill it out, then upload it in the designated space provided.
  5. Current fiscal year budget vs. actuals (FY24)
  6. Prior fiscal year profit & loss statement*
  7. Most Recent (FY22) 990 or 990-EZ, if you are required to file one by the IRS
    According to current IRS regulations:
  • Nonprofits with gross receipts of $200,000 or more and total assets of $500,000 or more must file a 990.
  • Nonprofits with gross revenues of less than $200,000 and less than $500,000 in assets must file a 990-EZ or 990.
  • Nonprofits with gross receipts of less than $50,000 are eligible to file the e-postcard or may choose to file a full return. If you file the e-postcard do not upload it to the application.
  1. Most recent independent audit report or review conducted in compliance with the state and/or federal regulations or by choice. Note that registration with Maryland as a charitableorganization requires an audit when contributions exceed $750,000.
 
 

OR

If you did not conduct an audit or file a 990, upload a copy of your fiscal year 2023 year-end budget vs. actuals, signed by the chair or authorized member of your Board of Directors.

Under Grant Awards may only be used to serve Charles County Residents:

* For local chapters/offices of regional or national organizations, submit local financials for Charles County only. 

*Or 2022 profit and loss, and 2023 operating budget if your organization uses the traditional calendar year
