Beyond the Classroom Inc.

Grant Award:  $5,000

Purpose: Provide underserved youth and their families access to no-cost learning and engagement opportunities including student, parent and community engagement programs.

Charles County Literacy Council

Grant Award:  $5,000

Purpose: Provide the needed assistance to the organization with its proposed expansion of CCLC’s operation with inclusion of two part-time staff.

Maryland Veterans Memorial Museum, Inc.

Grant Award:  $5,000

Purpose: Raise awareness among both the public and Charles County students regarding the vital contributions of African American women throughout history.

Our Sisters’ Circle

Grant Award:  $4,000   

Purpose: Support two therapeutic experiences focused on art therapy and music therapy, complemented by the wellness properties of tea. These events aim to promote mental wellness among Black women in Charles County, providing culturally relevant and innovative mental health support.

Seeds of Courage, Inc.

Grant Award:  $4,550

Purpose: The Bravery Bags program will empower survivors in Charles County to break free from financial abuse and achieve lasting economic stability.

The Chesapeake Choral Arts Society Inc.

Grant Award:  $5,000

Purpose: Bringing inspiring and entertaining choral music to audiences in Charles County through a series of three concerts each year: a holiday program in December, aspiring concert in April and a “pops” concert in June.

Youth EmpowerME Foundation Inc.

Grant Award:  $5,000

Purpose: Support for the annual EmpowerHer EmpowerMe Mother and Daughter Summit scheduled for March 2025. This conference is for mothers and mother figures with daughters between the ages of 8 -18. The summit was created to help strengthen these relationships and give the mothers the tools and resources necessary to empower their daughters.

Charlene’s Circle of Support Inc.

Grant Award:  $5,000

Purpose: Expand the care package program in Charles County, targeting youth aged 11 to 18 who are impacted by parental mental illness, substance abuse, and incarceration. This program addresses the critical needs of these vulnerable youth, helping foster a more compassionate and empowered community.

Deep Launching, Inc.

Grant Award:  $5,000

Purpose: Assist Latino and African-American families through Hunger Relief and Distribution Program, providing 1 week worth of nutritious emergency groceries to unduplicated families and individuals.

Neighborhood Creative Arts Center

Grant Award:  $4,580

Purpose: Support the Giving Fair and NatureFest, two free community events designed to engage and enrich the lives of children and families in Charles County, particularly those from underrepresented and underserved populations.

Port Tobacco River Conservancy

Grant Award:  $5,000

Purpose: An outreach campaign called SOAR, or Save Our Amazing River. Through this pilot effort, informing neighbors of the vision and goals of PTRC, increase the community’s septic impact knowledge, incentivize participation in volunteer efforts, and expand active memberships in the Conservancy.

Southern Sprinters Elite Youth Track Foundation, Inc.

Grant Award:  $4,700

Purpose: Offering a series of clinics free of charge, aiming to ensure that all interested athletes, regardless of background, can access high-quality coaching and resources that can pave the way for collegiate opportunities and long-term athletic development.

Toiletry and Company, Inc.

Grant Award:  $5,000

Purpose: Ensuring that all students in Charles County have access to essential hygiene products, empowering students and families to maintain their dignity and self-esteem by offering toiletry kits. A simple bar of soap or a toothbrush can significantly impact someone’s life.
