CCCT Grant Application Instructions

Log onto the grant application portal at:

Please make a note of your password as you will need it to re-enter the portal.

Filling in the Application:

  • Your form will automatically save your entries as you move through the application.
  • For narrative answers, use a word document and cut-and-paste text into the application. Do not use formatting like bullets, bold, or highlights as they will not translate to the application.
  • Answer all questions and upload all required documents or system will not allow you to submit your application.
  • When you successfully submit your application, you will receive an email acknowledgement with a copy of the application. Contact the Trust office at 301-934-3700 if you do not receive a confirmation email.
 

Required Documents – You will need to upload the following documents in PDF format:

  1. IRS 501(c)(3) Determination Letter
  2. Current Certificate of Status provided by the Maryland State Department of Assessment and Taxation. (Note: This is not the Maryland State Sales Tax Exemption card.) *Certificates are valid for one year. If you have submitted a certificate of status with a recent Charitable Trust Grant, the certificate may still be valid.* If you don’t have one, you can obtain one by clicking HERE.
  3. Board of Directors, Titles, and Affiliations or Former Affiliations
  4. Current Fiscal Year Budget vs. Actuals
  5. Previous completed year-end budget vs. actuals
  6. Proposed Program Budget: Download the budget template, fill it out, then upload it in the designated space provided.
    Please provide a breakdown of line items where applicable, for example, percentage of staff time, number of individuals receiving specific services, cost per service, etc. If needed, additional space is provided for more detailed line item explanations. Your explanation will assist reviewers in assessing the value of your program.
  1. Most Recent 990 or 990-EZ, if you are required to file one by the IRS.

    According to current IRS regulations:
    Nonprofits with gross receipts of $200,000 or more and total assets of $500,000 or more must file a 990.

    Nonprofits with gross revenues of less than $200,000 and less than $500,000 in assets must file a 990-EZ or 990.

    Nonprofits with gross receipts of less than $50,000 are eligible to file the e-Postcard or may choose to file a full return. If you file the e-postcard, do not upload it to the application.

  1. Most recent independent audit report or review conducted in compliance with the state and/or federal regulations or by choice. Note that registration with Maryland as a charitable organization requires an audit when contributions exceed $750,000.
 

If you did not conduct an audit or file a 990 or 990-EZ , upload a copy of your 2022 fiscal year’s Year-End Budget vs. Actuals, signed by the chair or chief volunteer officer of your board of directors.
