The Charles County Charitable Trust is pleased to announce the award of a FY26 Special-Grant providing financial assistance to support hoteling for unsheltered individuals in Charles County during periods of hyperthermia (mid-November – March).
Over the past two years, Lifestyles of Maryland received funding through the Maryland Department of Housing to assist with this effort. These funds helped provide emergency sheltering during extreme weather conditions, filling the gap left by the discontinuation of the Safe Nights program. With the funding not available this year, a critical gap in support emerged for some of our county’s most vulnerable population. The Charitable Trust is proud to support Lifestyles of Maryland in addressing this urgent need during dangerous weather conditions, helping them continue their commitment to providing compassionate and responsive care.
The funding to ensure that our most vulnerable residents have a safe place to stay was provided by the Charitable Trust utilizing returned fiscal year grant funding and contributions from our community.
Charitable Trust Staff review all grant spending through site visits and reporting requirements to ensure funds are used as allocated
