Bay Community Support Services
Grant Award: $20,000
Purpose:  Personnel costs for recruitment and retention of caregivers for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a direct result of the dramatic turnover in caregivers and the challenges of replacing them.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington – Southern Maryland Food Bank
Grant Award:  $35,000
Purpose: Working with partner parishes, continue to address the heightened need for food by providing groceries for families, particularly those with children.

Charles County Arts Alliance
Grant Award:  $4,000
Purpose:  Continuation of three programs started during the pandemic: CCAA 2nd Fridays, the Arts Teacher of the Year Award and Southern Maryland Banjo Project.

Charles County Children’s Aid Society
Grant Award:  $25,000
>Purpose:  Meet the increased demand for emergency services, including food, baby items, personal hygiene supplies and clothing.

Charles County Fair
Grant Award:  $30,000
Purpose:  Assist in defraying the loss of revenue due to the cancellation of the 2020 County Fair and off-season rentals caused by the pandemic and government-mandated restrictions.

Charles County Literacy Council
Grant Award:  $5,000
Purpose:  Outreach needed to recruit volunteer tutors to meet the anticipated, increased demand for adult tutors and program materials for English and ESOL learners.

Charles County Youth Orchestra
Grant Award:  $5,000
Purpose: Assist in defraying the digital editing costs associated with delivering programs virtually.

Chesapeake Choral Arts Society
Grant Award:  $5,000
Purpose:  Assist in defraying revenue loss caused by government-mandated closure of performance venues during the pandemic.

Christmas in April DBA Rebuilding Together Charles County
Grant Award:  $35,000
Purpose:  Assist in defraying the loss of revenue from cancelled fundraisers and for supplies to make home repairs for elderly, disabled and low-income persons who cannot afford them.

College of Southern Maryland
Grant Amount:  $10,000
Purpose: Virtual Remedial Bootcamp Support to enable students to gain the skills and confidence to place into upper-level STEM math classes.

Community Crisis & Referral Center DBA Center for Abused Persons
Grant Award: $8,000
Purpose:  Technology upgrade to streamline communications with clients and implementation of community awareness program.

End Hunger in Charles County
Grant Award:  $10,000
Purpose:  Keep community food pantries well stocked with food and toiletries, resource lists and healthy meal information for distribution to persons in need.

Friends of Old Waldorf School Foundation
Grant Award:  $15,000
Purpose:  Assist in defraying loss of rental revenue due to government-mandated closure of event venues.

Grant Award:$2,000
Purpose:  Support for “Art·is·T, a visual arts collaborative and online business incubator program for teens.

Hospice of Charles County
Grant Award: $20,000
Purpose:  Support critically-needed renovations of the in-patient care center for severely ill patients.

KidsSTREAM
Grant Award: $10,000
Purpose:Assist in defraying revenue loss that will enable children, whose families cannot afford to send them to summer camp, to have an authentic camp experience, build friendships and develop a love of learning.

Lifepoint Wesleyan Church DBA Poiema Movement
Grant Award:  $20,000
Purpose: Support the needs of marginalized women, assisting them in their transition to independent living and lifelong sustainable change.

LifeStyles of Maryland
Grant Award:  $20,000
Purpose:  Assist in defraying revenue losses caused by providing assistance to households that experienced homelessness during the pandemic.

Lions Camp Merrick
Grant Award:  $10,000
Purpose:  Assist in defraying revenue loss caused by mandated closure of 2020 summer camps, cancellation of fundraising events and rentals.

Maryland Diaper Bank
Grant Amount:  $10,000
Purpose:  Support Diaper Distribution Hubs with diapers and postpartum care packages for families affected by COVID-19.

Mattawoman Creek Art Center
Grant Amount:  $5,000
Purpose:  Assist in defraying revenue losses cause by cancellation of fundraiser and closure of gift shop (and Art Center) due to the pandemic.

New Horizons Supported Services
Grant Award:  $10,000
Purpose:  Assist in defraying projected revenue loss due to recruitment, re-staffing and training to 100% capacity and from cancellation of golf fundraiser.

Our Place Waldorf
Grant Award: $20,000
Purpose: Assist in defraying projected revenue loss from cancelled fundraiser to assure severe food insecurity can continue to be addressed for the increased number of residents in need of prepared meals.

Port Tobacco Players
Grant award:  $20,000
Purpose:  Assist in defraying projected revenue loss because of restricted seating (50% capacity) for Camp Mockabee for elementary, middle and high school students and for performances for the general public.

Pure Play Everday
Grant Award:  $5,000
Purpose: To support the addition of a volunteer manager, through the Maryland Volunteer Partnership (AmeriCorps) to work with partner nonprofits in providing the Dine and Play and Shelter and Play programs, targeting households most affected by the pandemic.

Sagepoint Senior Living Services
Grant Award:  $15,000
Purpose:  To assist in defraying revenue loss due to necessary, weekly COVID testing of patients and staff.

Southern Maryland Center for Family Advocacy
Grant Award:  $27,300
Purpose:  Assist in defraying revenue losses due to decrease in donor grants, which will enable continuation of advocacy and legal services at current levels for victims of domestic, sexual and dating violence.

Spring Dell Center
Grant Award:  $40,000
Purpose:  Assist in defraying the cost of Nursing Agency services needed because of the critical shortage of care providers who left their jobs because of the pandemic.

Stella’s Girls
Grant Award: $2,000
Purpose: Support of tutoring, mentoring and after-school programs for at-risk youth ages 12-21.

The Catherine Foundation
Grant Award:  $20,000
Purpose:  Support of new personnel, including a bilingual English/Spanish client advocate and restoration of basement work area of 90-year-old headquarter building.

The Humane Society of Charles County
Grant Amount:  $5,000
Purpose: Assist is defraying projected revenue loss from cancelled in-person fundraising events to ensure continuum of services.

The Promise Resource Center 
Grant Award:  $10,000
Purpose:  Assist in defraying revenue loss from training and fee-for-service programs for pre-K  educators and caregivers that were discontinued temporarily or experienced reduced participation when offered virtually.

Toiletry & Company
Grant Award:  $5,000
Purpose: To defray the loss of revenue due to cancelled fundraiser and continue providing hygiene education and toiletry kits to prevent spread of diseases among our homeless population.

Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland
Grant Award:  $35,000
Purpose:  Expand the Wheels for Wellness Program by adding University of Maryland Regional Medical Center to enable Charles County residents without available transportation the ability to access medical services.

University of Maryland Eastern Shore – Southern Maryland Alumni Association
Grant Award:  $2,000
Purpose:  Support for the Circle of Hope scholarship program.
